LaToya has spent her entire 16-year professional career in youth development at CIS Wake. She is passionate about unlocking student potential and challenging them to reach beyond their immediate grasp. Her initial connection with CIS Wake was as a volunteer and collegiate student living in one of the communities served by CIS Wake. Since joining the CIS Wake team, she has served as the Assistant Program Director, Volunteer Director, and now Senior Director of Community Programs. In this role, she provides oversight and management of the SMART Academy, the After-School Quality Improvement Grant, and also provides community-based program management. LaToya says that her greatest accolades are her CIS Wake students and her own two children-Ty and Tatyana. Ty is a sophomore at NC A&T, and Tatyana is a freshman at Athens Drive High School.
