Maureen is a product of New York state’s public education system where her parents
were both high school English teachers. She went to Marietta College in Ohio and went on to earn her business and law degrees from Wake Forest University. She practiced law in Raleigh for 11 years, focusing on litigation and employment law, before moving to in-house counsel roles. Maureen was Global Employment Counsel for Red Hat, Inc. and is now Senior Corporate Counsel with ESA Management, LLC which owns and manages Extended Stay America hotels throughout the country.

Maureen’s husband is a Wake County Public School English teacher. They live in
Raleigh with their two children and sweet Labrador mix. They enjoy movie nights,
concerts, travel and cheering on the Buffalo Bills!
