Profile: Travis has more than 18 years of executive management, marketing  and media experience in the cable television and magazine publishing industries. In addition, he has worked with various civic and non-profit organizations in a leadership and management role. Travis graduated with honors and received a BA in Communications from Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD) in 1992.

Dewand Turnage, Senior Director of Programming Services

Profile: Dewand has worked in the education field since 2001 as a teacher’s assistant, teacher, and supervising lead teacher. She also has strong administrative and bookkeeping skills and is skilled in customer service.

LaToya Jefferys, Senior Director of Learning Centers & Community Outreach

Profile: LaToya is an energetic team player with great interpersonal skills driven by critical thinking, problem solving, and solutions-oriented customer service. She has been involved with Communities in Schools for more than a decade and is experienced in recruiting and training in a nonprofit environment. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from N.C. State University.

Roberta Hadley, Co-Director of Operation Eligibility & Development Associate

Profile: Roberta has a certificate of nonprofit management from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her professional career in the nonprofit sector has allowed her to serve in various capacities, including development, administration, operations, and human resources.

Patrick Carroll, Development Consultant

Profile: Patrick graduated with honors from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He spent seven years in credit and relationship management at two leading commercial banking institutions and worked in university advancement and development for several years.

Sherria Ards, Graduation Coach, Enloe High School

Profile: Sherria has a degree in Interpersonal and Public Communication from Central Michigan University. She has professional experience as an instructor, domestic violence counselor, language arts teacher, and case manager.

Melodie Braswell, Graduation Coach & Director, Heritage Park Learning Center

Profile: Melodie has experience as a senior training coordinator and lead program coordinator for Communities in Schools. She is skilled in using the Microsoft Office Suite software program and has been responsible for professional development for new CIS Wake volunteers.
