Graduation Coach (Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design)
Jamal brings over 20 years of passion and experience as a youth advocate to the CIS Wake team. He has focused on youth development, delinquency prevention, and racial disparity reduction efforts throughout his career, in previous roles as the Director of Youth Thrive, and the Youth and Family Services Administrator for the Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. He also managed scholarships for the Secretary’s Youth Leadership Academy and Youth Development Center, where he helped youth find resources needed to attend NC Community Colleges. Jamal’s extensive experiences in working with youth marry well with the vision of CIS Wake, and his ability to work with community leaders, youth service professionals, volunteers, school personnel and faith-based organizations helps him to provide an environment where students thrive and succeed in school and in life.
