In the swing with The First Tee
07/26/2007
This summer, CIS Wake students at the SAS Learning Center at Kentwood and the Hurricanes Academy at Walnut Terrace are learning to channel their inner Tiger Woods during daily golf clinics taught by The First Tee of Wake County.
"It's amazing to see [the kids] change so much in just a few short weeks...I personally have been very impressed with their individuality, sharp minds and can do attitude," said Tom Tyndall, director of programming for The First Tee.
The First Tee of Wake County joined with CIS Wake as an activity partner for the Danialle Karmanos WORK IT OUT program of physical fitness and nutrition education that comprised the first hour of every day for students participating in summer programs at the learning centers. This follows the recent successful pilot implementation of the Danialle Karmanos WORK IT OUT program at the Hurricanes Academy at Walnut Terrace during the spring session.
