SUCCESS for 1st Annual Skanska Golf Classic

CIS Wake's first annual Skanska Golf Classic sponsored by Golden Corral was a huge success! More than 80 players on teams representing 18 local businesses and friends participated in the tournament at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.

Through the leadership, energy and support of our organizing sponsors, Skanska and SAS, and the generosity of the presenting sponsor, Golden Corral, CIS Wake netted $33,960 to help at-risk students by connecting them one-on-one with a caring adult tutor so they learn more and stay in school.

Skanska USA Building Inc., the Triangle’s top general contractor, is a key sponsor of CIS Wake. In early June, Skanska began a complete renovation of the Heritage Park Community Learning Center, CIS Wake’s oldest facility. The renovation will not only update the building's interior, but will transform the space into a more vibrant, welcoming environment to better serve the learning needs of the more than 60 children who visit the center every day. Work is expected to be completed in mid-August. For one year starting July 1, the facility will officially be named the Skanska Community Learning Center at Heritage Park.
