Stanley Cup Visits Hurricanes Academy!
10/02/2006
The Stanley Cup paid a visit to the Walnut Terrace public housing community in Raleigh Tuesday, where the Hurricanes mascot Stormy, the Kids-N-Community community relations team, and radio voice Chuck Kaiton met with students in CIS Wake programming. The Cup visited several nonprofits during the day, culminating in the event at the Hurricanes Academy learning center. The Canes have supported CISWC and the center for several years.
More than 40 young people in the Walnut Terrace community participate in after school educational programming offered by CISWC each weekday. We are very grateful to the Kids-N-Community Foundation and the Canes community relations team for providing CIS Wake's students with a "chance of a lifetime" in seeing the Cup!
