Nicole Brown Hardy is a graduate from Norfolk State University with a Masters Degree in Business, and a Minor in Mass Communications, and was recruited for a career with Wal-mart in 1999. Nicole began in the Assistant Managers Program, and has been promoted up through several positions to include opening two Wal-mart stores in the Assistant Manager position, one Wal-mart store in the Co-manager position, and one Wal-mart store in the Store manager position until moving forward in 2010 to become the Market Manager for Market 295. Currently, Nicole is responsible for nine stores, including two new neighborhood market stores in Cary, comprised of approximately 2,100 hourly associates and over 80 management associates. Nicole is currently on the Board of Directors for Prevent Blindness as well as on the Board for Women’s Counsel in Wal-mart. Nicole also still has strong ties with Norfolk University and continues to recruit future Wal-mart leaders from the University.
